15. Holly Hunter in The PIano

Holly Hunter's performance as Ada McGrath is astounding for the amount of end she plays this part with and even more remarkable because she doesn't say a word throughout. In only one scene with no lines she manages to express years upon years of backstory and emotion and do more than some actors can do with an entire script. Hunter's performance is quite simple to evaluate but it's one of nigh-legendary quality.
